Measure What Matters

Measure What Matters
Accountability cannot just mean another standardized test or another spreadsheet.
We should absolutely measure academic progress. But parents understand that a successful school is about more than one number.
I want CPS to publicly track whether students have access to the things we say every child deserves:
-
Are special education positions filled?
-
Does the school have appropriate counseling and mental health support?
-
Are students receiving their IEP services?
-
Does the building need major repairs?
-
Do students have access to arts, athletics, advanced coursework, career education, and after-school programming?
-
Are multilingual families receiving information in a language they understand?
-
Are students attending school and feeling safe and supported when they get there?
-
And are we actually closing disparities between schools and communities?
If we say something is a priority, families should be able to see whether we're delivering it.
