About Claudia
Rooted in Service
Claudia is a lifelong public servant and community leader running for the Chicago School Board to represent District 1B. Her career has been defined by service, problem-solving, and a deep commitment to making public institutions work better for the people they serve.

An immigrant from Ecuador and a native Spanish speaker, Claudia grew up navigating systems that were often difficult to access and rarely designed with working families in mind. Those experiences shaped her belief that government must be accessible, responsive, and accountable — especially when it comes to education and the well-being of children.

Building Systems That Work
Today, Claudia serves as District Director for Congressowomen Delia C. Ramirez, where she acts as the Congresswoman’s senior district advisor and oversees all district office operations. She leads constituent services, supervises staff, develops internal systems and procedures, and ensures the office effectively serves residents across the Northwest and West Sides of Chicago.

Previously, as Director of Constituent Services, Claudia helped build a brand-new congressional office from the ground up — creating casework infrastructure, training staff, and strengthening agency relationships to better serve families. Before that, she served as Chief of Staff and Outreach Coordinator for State Representative Lindsey LaPointe, managing daily operations, advancing legislative priorities, overseeing communications, and representing the office in the community.
Statewide Leadership & Community Partnership
Claudia brings statewide experience from her work at the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights, where she coordinated a $40 million immigration program, supported more than 50 community-based organizations, and partnered with state and federal leaders on immigrant integration efforts across Illinois.

She understands how large systems function and where they fail families and has worked at every level to make them more effective and accountable.

A Community Advocate
Outside of her professional roles, Claudia is an active civic leader and volunteer. She serves on the 38th Ward Democrats Executive Board and the Dems 45 Steering Committee
She has supported local campaigns, school governance efforts, labor organizing, and volunteer initiatives assisting asylum-seeking families.
