Chicago spent years fighting for the right to elect the people who govern our public schools.
We shouldn't waste that opportunity by recreating the same system with different names sitting around the table.

The elected School Board should bring decision-making closer to the people.

• It should give parents a real voice.

• It should respect educators and school staff.

• It should listen to students.

• It should strengthen Local School Councils rather than work around them.
   

And it should make the people running CPS answer directly to the communities they serve.

I am running because I believe every child deserves a great public school. Every neighborhood deserves investment. And every family deserves a voice.

That's the promise of an elected School Board — and it's the kind of Board member I will be.
